Texas Country music powerhouse announces new project produced by Trent Willmon; album pre-order available now.
(AUSTIN, TEXAS – October 2016) – Texas Country singer-songwriter Kevin Fowler is thrilled to announce the release of his eighth studio album, “Coming to a Honky Tonk Near You” on Friday, Oct. 21 on Kevin Fowler Records. Produced by Trent Willmon, the album speaks to all things country and celebrates Fowler’s legendary licks and his solid ascent to Texas music royalty. Fowler has made a name for himself as a Texas music staple with an avid fan base and a reputation as one of the state’s most beloved artists and live performers.
Album pre-orders can be made here: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/coming-to-a- honky-tonk-near-you/id1140683916?app=itunes.
All iTunes pre-orders include instant downloads of “Sellout Song” and Kevin’s brand new single “Texas Forever.” Presale packages will also available on the road at Kevin’s upcoming live shows.
“As I was trying to decide which songs to cut, these eight songs stood out to me and immediately became my favorites,” said Fowler. “I think our fans are going to love this record as much as I do. This is the best thing I’ve done since ‘Loose, Loud and Crazy,’ and I can’t wait for everyone to hear it.”
The first single off the album “Sellout Song” was released in April 2016. The accompanying video, collaboration with fellow Texas songwriter Zane Williams, was also a fan favorite. The video premiered on tasteofcountry.com and was quickly shared by over 7,000 people, with the post reaching over 1.3 million generating 420,000 article clicks in the first three days. The song presents Fowler’s comical take on the modern trend of hip hop beats and phrases finding their way into Mainstream Top 40 country music. Throughout the duration of the album, Fowler rattles off drunken adventures on one number (“The Bouncer”) then switches gears to the sincere, humble likes of “Livin’ Proof” or the affectionate ode to his home state on “Texas Forever.”
With nods to all things that Fowler loves and adores about his home state, such as hunting, fishing and appreciating the outdoors, this album is a sure honky tonk classic.
“Sometimes the recording process can be grueling, but this record was a pleasure to make,” said Fowler. “I recorded it with my good buddy Trent Willmon. I think it really shows in the final product when you are just having a great time making music with your friends.”
“Kevin and I have had a great friendship and have written songs together for many years, and it’s been a real honor to work with him on this album,” said producer Trent Willmon. “I have nothing but the highest regard and respect for him;; like other iconic Texans such as Willie and Waylon, Kevin has carved out his own niche and invented his own genre. I believe this album carries on that unique brand of Kevin Fowler country music that his fans have come to expect from him. I’m proud to be a part of it.”
With a diehard fan base, Fowler’s live shows are an entity in themselves. They possess an electricity and rowdiness all their own;; something that can only be explained by witnessing them firsthand. His onstage energy and ability to connect with his crowd is what has garnered Fowler such a massive and loyal band of country music lovers who can truly attest to his honest lyrics and authentic spirit. Few performers in country music are as naturally gifted at leading the crowd in having a good time. Whether it’s in a crowded dancehall or the wide-open spaces of an outdoor festival, Fowler never disappoints.
“Kevin has such a strong connection with his fans,” said Sarah Polidore, who handles Kevin’s day to day management at Triple 8 Management. “He is so involved in every detail of his business and will always make sure they are getting a great show and great music. He’s been working really hard to share this new album with his fans as quickly as possible because he knows they are going to love it!”
“I think some bands have fans, but our fans are more like my road family,” said Fowler. “They have been coming to our shows and having fun with us for over 16 years now. This is our eighth studio album and I really think it’s going to be a fan favorite.”
With over 500,000 albums sold, seven studio albums and 15 No. 1’s on the Texas Music Chart, Kevin Fowler is an absolute powerhouse in the country music scene. He is revered as one of the country music greats in Texas and one of the most relevant country musicians in the U.S. He has had songs recorded with the legendary George Jones, toured Europe and worked with other heavy hitters like Sammy Kershaw, Montgomery Gentry, Mark Chesnutt and many more!
With the continued momentum stemming from his upcoming release, Fowler shows no signs of slowing down, and promises to maintain his authenticity by being “Loose, Loud, & Crazy,” and still “100% Texan.”
“I would have never in a million years thought the Texas music scene would grow to what it is now,” says Fowler. “I was lucky enough to have been there since the inception. I feel proud to have played a part in establishing the scene, in making it what it is. We fought a lot of battles and kicked a lot of doors down. We broke those barriers down back then. And now we are having fun spreading it town by town outside of Texas, just the way we did inside the home state.” The new album especially rings true to Fowler’s old-school charm, and at the same time, is amped up with a modern energy all his own.
It is Fowler and his band’s bold proclamation to bring real-deal country music to the fans that love and appreciate it the most.
